If you have noticed that you have a high heat bill or your just want some way to reduce your monthly heat bill, Devoe Rentals encourages you to change your furnace filter on a monthly basis. In accordance with your lease, you are required to purchase and replace your furnace filter once a month. These filters are cheap at around $2-4 per filter. Look at the brand and size of your furnace filter and purchase one that fits your furnace. If you do not change your filter dust and lint builds up causing your furnace to work twice as hard to heat your home. This can raise your heat bill significantly. Stay Warm!

Water Leaks account for 12% of all water used in the average american home, and toilets are the most likely place to find a leak. There are several ways to check for a leak and save the money and hassle of paying for the water that is used by the leak. To check for a leak in a toilet: Remove toilet tank lid Drop one dye tablet or 10 drops of food coloring into the tank. (Dye tablets are often provided for free through local water providers) Put the lid back on the tank and wait. (Do not flush!) Wait 10-15 mins and then check your toilet. If the water in the toilet bowl has the color of the dye inside, then you have a leak. If not, there is no leak. If you hear the sound of running water, a faint hissing sound, or trickling you may have a leak. Leaks can also be silent. To check for a flush valve leak: Shut off water to the toilet Mark water level in the toilet tank with a marker. Check back in 10 mins – If the water is below the mark, the leak is coming from the flush valve. If not. check to see if the leak is coming from the fill valve by examining the overflow tube to see if water is running into it. You can always call your local water provider if you think you may have a leak and they will come to check the meter. https://city.milwaukee.gov/water/usewaterwisely/TakeControlNow#.W0jaINJKjIU
